wsd -

sat was wsd. no fireworks, just lots of work trying to get or stay in the right spot. size was head high with oh sets. outside was calm, but many of the bumps weren't hitting the bars or died out after breaking before making it to the inside. inside was pitchy and you had to dodge the multi-wave oh sets coming in from outside. i alternated between peaks trying to time my excursions outside with expectation of the larger sets. wasn't too successful getting maybe a half dozen or so waves that had more than a bottom turn in a couple of hours.

no real shoulders, so you had to be on the peak as it pitched to get in and rides were relatively short unless you stayed in the soup. it had been better on the lower tide, but the surf was deteriorating while i was out.

lots of current too, one time i was caught inside and made it out for a couple more waves. next time i checked, i had drifted a mile north. well, i got my exercise both paddling and walking.

thats my wsd report. stoked? a day surfing is better than not surfing.

Spent WSD at home, with a massive painful sinus infection, didn't even make it down to my mom's for turkey day. Sigh...
