Here's a few clips from yesterday.

Swell was there, but tide and winds conspired against better surf at the time i was shooting (tough to get a good wave). i shot some from a cliff overlooking a san mateo county reef break in the am, but it was pretty sloppy in the am. most of the guys said the evening before was decent. something weird happened to the footage where i have striped lines interlaced with the video rendering it unusable. lucky it wasn't better.

Good stuff lp, you must have a decent collection by now. Last year I edited all my surfing footage and stuff shot by my mates and I was able to make a reasonable surf video, its popular viewing after a good surf and a few beers.

yes, i've got some stuff, about enough for a commercial dvd. of course to do that i have to re-edit some stuff and work on some of the music, distribution and other things. i also found that as i ran into space problems i unintentionally erased some things (fark). so yes and it takes mucho work to put those together. i did put some stuff on a dvd just to test my dvd making. the videos look so much better without all the compression and the music doesn't sound like its coming through a drainpipe.

on a related note, i'm still pushing for an AS dvd. its one of the reasons i keep asking people to shoot videos. i think it would be a cool project and it becomes more doable every day. so everybody keep shooting.

aside - if we did produce a successful dvd, we would need to set up something for proceeds. lots of possibilities. some of the charities we might consider: xpeh's 'greenbud-build a new shithouse' fund, fleks 'offense is the best defense' fund, sanold's schizo therapy/profile retirement fund, pa's 'food-not-surf' fund, mt pete's djembi orchestra, foon/rodgers bathtub party, mark's as reentry fund, jb's surf-muscle-scale mia fund, doc's

Good. Repro is becoming less and less of an issue with more and more machines shipping with DVD+/-R/RW.

We should think about what we want to put into an AS dvd... needs to be more than just footage shot by ASers, but there is not much footage of ASers surfing.

are you talking about video of asers giving food recipes?

probably the best is to get more video of as get togethers 'where actual surfing takes place'. i know there is footage of many asers that hasn't seen the light of day. the panasolas video (if it ever can be found) is a good example of what you're describing.

Sounds like a good opportunity for good footage. You guys always have waves so I would expect it.
