My girl and I leave tomorrow for Samoa. We are spending 12 days on the island and I'm not coming home until after Labor Day.
I will be sure to get lots of good pictures for you guys (bringing 10 rolls of film, 3 disposable water cameras, 4 video casettes). Maybe I'll even remember the boards with all my camera gear.
I imagine the surf will be somewhere between Fiji's and Tahiti's forecasts given that Samoa is in the proximity, so it looks like 3-5' with bigger sets on the day of arrival with a few more days of reasonable surf to get tuned up before a good swell hits.
Now if I can find my girlfriend who seems to have disappeared when she should be packing her stuff (the stuff I'm not already carrying for her) - maybe we can get this underway.
See you guys in Sept. - hurricane season in full swing for East Coast!!!

Have fun. A friend told me that he did not enjoy it because it was too darned shallow over sharp reef. Hope you get some.

Last minute adjustment - bringing springsuit for added padding in case things get out of hand. No helmet, but if things get super heavy I'm sure someone can locate a spare (or maybe I'll wuss out and opt for a more sheltered break).
Leaving in 1/2 hour. See you guys.
