Surprise surprise, after a week of Bronchitis and walking pneumonia I rolled the dice and header over to OB yesterday morning only to see:

Shoulder high-> slightly overhead on the sets, south swell with some pretty damn good shape, water was in the low 50's, pretty crowded at Sloat AND I noticed one of my colleagues from from work was also playing surf hooky. Stayed out for 3 1/2 hours, got some fun rides, but of course the one I remember best was this sweet peak I caught early on in the sesh, set a nice bottom turn (love the way the rocket fish bottom turns), off the top, look over my shoulder and see a sponger behind me, I opted for the good Kharma decision, pulled out, later on she paddle out said thanks and then exclaimed 'I got shacked',thinkin' of ya Neal...

Second funny moment came towards the end of my sesh, leg muscles were really stiff due to cold, timed a set so that I got the last and largest wave, a really sweet peak, took off, and discovered on trying to turn that my legs were so cold that they delayed in bending for the turn, fell off the board standing straight up... damn.. that signalled the end of the day for me, took me 10 minutes to get out of my fricking zipperless wetsuit...

And yes, my daughter (7 mos) repeats her name all the time now, her name is Natascha, and we hear, with our super keen parents ear 'Na Ta Ta' woohoo,

have a great weekend all

Stuff like that happens to me all the time when the water gets colder. Everything from tripping over my feet when I take off to being so cold I can't even get my legs to move when I take off. I'm willing them to move, but nothing happens. Then it's a belly ride down the face at best or my unique style of going over the falls with a death grip on the board, because I can't unpry my fingers, at worst.

Ah, winter....

. .... 'Na Ta Ta' woohoo,

You go, Paul. Nothing wrong with you that a hot shower won't cure. Is there more wetsuit in your future?

BTW, my non-taped Hotline Superfly is the culprit here, the problem is that I like its fit better than my 2002 model Oneill Psycho, though the psycho is a warmer wetsuit
