SD points report

During a 20-day visit to San Diego for a field experiment (see http://science.whoi.edu/users/elgar/NCEX/ncex.html), I managed to get a little time to meet Tom Keener, Joanne VanMeter, and Bill Andrews for food. Also during the trip I got to deal with ash, fire, kelp, sewage, way too many naked people, and a little bit of bodysurfing in between some of our instrument frames.

Tim, I don't blame you for not stopping by the People's Republic of Ocean Beach. You would have to add syringes,homeless,criminals and no surf to all of the misery you suffered in the land of the beautiful people. How was the Sushi?

First a question. Were you offenden by the nudies? The ash was the aftermath of those fires. Seaweed is an intrical psrt of the ever changing ocean. Was, if you know, the sewage from the Tiajuana Rivermouth, which is San Diego's red-headed stepchild? One final thing: what the hell part of Oklahome are you from, anyways?

Not offended. You just get tired of seeing naked people after very little time, almost immediately. Then averting your eyes all the time eventually gets tiring. But the naked people never stop.

Sewage was from a spill at the golf course to the north of the gliderport. The County put up a berm and trapped a few tens of thousands of gallons which happily drained right into the sand and went under the berm and out to sea.

Never been to Oklahoma.

This one, like the lactose thread that I stumbled on late, really stumps me. Tim... were you firing up joints and seeing Keener, VanMeter and Andrews buck naked? LOL, that's a sight I mostly don't want to see Kelpy sewage: yuk.
