I was given a really old (60's or so era) longboard, over 10 feet I think. It's really heavy and is pretty beat up. The person that gave it to me said I could probably sell it for a decent amount because they are sought after to be sanded down and redone since their weight is way more than the newer long boards. Question is, is this correct?
Thanks in advance

no. Old longboards vary from absolute crap to mediocre. The trick is, finding a collector-fool to buy it. Messing with it will mess with the value.

I have been told that lots of old boards are available in soCal at garage sales. So you will need to sell it ....hey try Ebay...you need some sizzle. Like its the 'first board that Billy Headdip hung ten on at Curve Beach.'
