Hey folks,

I'm giving myself a complete change of pace in life, and am dropping everything to move to australia for a while. I'm tired of everything, and need to get away and try something completely different. I've always wanted to go to australia and have always wanted to learn to surf. I'm wondering if anyone knows any quiet towns in australia that are near the beach, livable, with any of the bare necessities I would need to live (food). I'm ideally looking for something that's far away from it all, and, even though it sounds like a complete utopia, I'm not gonna give up!

Any tips would help, guys and gals.

Try Agnes Water on the Queensland coast. I moved here from California in Jan 2007. Beautiful place with surf.
