Been lurking for some time and thought I would post this. This ought to kick off some lively discussion...
Given your classic single-fin longboard, say something between 9'6' and 10'2'

Probably a Takayama. The fact that Tudor uses them is a good reason....uummmm..... I just get this feeling that Takayama is the master of shaping a surfboard- just the way he looks or something- kind of like a surfboard wizard or something. Harbours are sweet boards too, but Takayama has my vote. I myself have my eye on the surf tech 7'10' egg he makes.

Hey, Joel no longer rides for Donald. Also, most of Donald's boards are computer shaped no, with Takayama people just doing the final shape. sunash

A friend has a couple of them.......
A 10'2' Mello Yello and a 6'5' Comet. They are both nice riding boards. So much so, that I'm planning on ordering a 10' Hornet. I'm especially impressed with the materials he's using. The longboards are definitely not of the high performance type though. If you want a tank........it's the ticket. I've heard the same of Tylers.
