Move to the Midwest for a few years and then return to LaJolla. You will me much more well adjusted to no surf.

My advice: expand your backyard. For example, get some hockey skates and head to the local rink.

Thank you all for giving me a well-deserved slap upside the head. FWIW, I did get stuff accomplished. My other motorcycle is much closer to getting back on the road and I filled a garbage can with weeds from the garden.

Now, can I have some waves? (Was it Doc Ball, who in an interview 15 years ago when asked what he was going to do when he reached 90 said, 'I guess I'll take up an old man's sport like golf'? Mebbe I'll have to take up longboarding in my old age.)

Anytime, Tom. After taking nearly two weeks off for that outstanding mid-month southern hemi run, I haven't minded the utter flatness too much... Bettye and our birds have appreciated the extra attention.

Yeah, I'm bout ready for a new swell. Got all the dings repaired, oil changed in both cars, caught up or even ahead with work again, the lawn is mowed and watered, and the tomatoes are coming along well. Bring it!

Don't do it! I rode my 9'6' for the first time in months at the tail end of that swell, just for a change of pace, it'll probably be a while before I bother with it again...

I was cheering you on. Should I have stopped when it hit the bluff?
