Lemmings!, I thought your story was interesting and well written. But I guess life must be very different in the city as opposed to rural areas. It is assumed that anyone is 'packing' around here. Also, the guns you've mentioned are cap guns compared to what the street gangs pack, often uzis. It is a well known fact that cops around here (Chi) are outgunned completely, and the stuff you've mentioned has been illegal for over 30 years, to no avail. My wife's uncle own a gun shop and all of the stuff mentioned is quite easy to get, illegally or not.

I guess I could get the same rush as you've described if I took out some of the 'involved' individuals (bangers)who brag about murder and see how well they surf (even compared to me). But some of the guys who come from 'real' surfing areas (such as PR) are (still) excellent surfers and can often outsurf most any continental Americans easily.

Then there was the time I saw someone just stabbed on the way to a surf break on the subway platform in Chi, my pope bisect in tow. It was before a surf session. I never wrote about it here. I guess you look the other way when you know the cops are there. Violence and surfing don't mix, IMHO. Why ruin a good thing and what does one have to do with the other?

I personally am not into guns and would see it as a greater threat to my family if I were. But if you do what you are into and abide by the law, fine. As for 'John Doe #2', if there is one, throw him or her in a cell and let the person rot. I'm glad you outsurfed him. My point is that 98.9% of other thugs can't surf either. It may not have been such a victory to outsurf him, after all.

god damn, i can't believe how many nitpickers there are for this story.

i thought it was good story, well written, tied in to current events, had desparation, and surf content to boot.

Tell me about it. The funny thing is if I was so interested in impressing everybody with my authenticity, I would of spent 5 extra minutes on glock.com.
