What does this group think about a log with the following dimensions:

10.5 feet long 20 inch wide nose 17 inch tail 24.5 inch wide 3.5 inches thick 4inch tail rocker/5 inch nose rocker

This would have a 2' balsa stringer. The rails are modified down rails in the tail and classic rails in the nose and middle.

I weigh 185-190lbs. Moderate skills. Surf all conditions of surf. Thinking about this as a 'classic' style nose-rider for the quiver. Overkill?

Pros? Cons?

That is one big board, shoot some people like em' that way. But if you want a 'classic' style long board I think you found your baby. Not my cup o' tea, but hey I'm not you...

Andy Sounds like it could be a pretty board though.

Aloha GB,

Pretty big board even by my preferences..............close to Kareem's board.

But if you work it and learn to surf it you will take your skills above the moderate range. That's an easy board *and* a hard board to surf. Easy to establish balance and movement, difficult to maneaver with speed until you master its characteristics.........where to be at the exact right time with regards to weighting. Once mastered you should be able to have a picnic while riding the tip.

Good luck........let me know if I can help once you have gotten to know it for awhile.
