and on the 14th day...

i got barreled again.

that's right, 14 straight days of overhead surf. the smallest it has been here in the south bay of LA county was last saturday when it was head high with sneaker closeout sets. i have only not surfed beacuse i am too tired and burnt out. sessions over the last two weeks have included road trips to ventura, blacks, oxnard, and north orange county, plus every day in between here in LA at well known and not so well known spots. there has been spectacular waves going off in every different direction at every different spot from point conception probably all the way down to cabo san lucas. all this with a huge high pressure dome sitting on top of us giving light or no wind all day.

this is the longest run of clean swell i've observed since living in california. can anyone else remember it going for this long? the waves are forcast to stay 'up' for the next few days at least and the long range crystal ball looks pretty good for more after that.

i think hawaii is feeling the same way.

i'm really thankful to whoever is in charge for making this experince possible, and i hope every one is getting their fill out here. i know i am.

It's been generally too small to wake up Santa Barbara proper or even Rincon for real, but Jose's right this weather has been insane.

Surfline appears to be in a bad state today; they reported 2-3' waves at Rincon and 3-4' at C Street. I saw overhead waves roll through Signals (2 guys out) and Hobson's/Tropics (3 guys out) this AM along with empty sets at Solimar Reef, some guy throwing big air in the cove at Rincon, and a well overhead set at the Indicator, with the lot and lineup practically empty. Got to work and the C Street cam was blacked out. Some kind of monkeywrenching going on? It appears to have worked, or maybe everyone's surfed out. I'll join the crowds a day late this weekend.
