I understand that swell.com is abondoning the Cortes Banks and looking into what the Chicago Park District can offer. I can see it now... Kelly Slater and Sunny Garcia converging on O'Hare, with their poly pro and 6 mm boots along with their respective ice ladders. Yes, it should be epic! Just think, having to use a blowtorch to pry apart your leash from your board because the ice is too thick!

Now that I have made this information public, I fully expect Greyhound busses and Amtrak trains chock full of surfers, and of course, chartered 747s coming in from the North Shore via Honolulu, and of course Sydney. I know that I may have betrayed the local surfing community with my information, but I just wanted to give everyone a real foretaste of what they can expect at BIG MONTROSE: http://www.kacm.com/Ch1.jpg

Or more likely: http://www.kacm.com/Ch2.jpg Just don't forget to bring some BIG THICK wetsuits (or better drysuits) The temp there was -5F.

Anyway, we don't always have very good waves, but sometimes it can be pretty good and we have fun being able to surf where we live! Don't forget your stick and if you are real good, we'll take you to a Cubs game, where people are obvilious to the score after the third inning (three beers per inning in the bleachers is the norm)..... ck
