for a half-man

Report: Surfed East Side on Saturday, the entire lineup took three large 15 foot face sets on the head. Everyone got caught inside, I've never seen the horizon jump up like it did today, must be all the sand fill and the zero tide.

I gave up and let the last large set wash me all the way to Insides and I headed for safer waters at the Hook. I just wasn't in the state of mind today for bigger surf.

The Hook was very clean at belly button to head high on the in betweeners, and had some really shapely overhead set waves, but with 50 people vying for the peak, waves were tough to come by.

I stuck to the inside and snagged the tweeners...lots of fun especially compared to getting rag-dolled up at PP.

Neal, Upon hearing that I was going surfing at night the following conversation between my 12yr old daughter and myself took place. 'Dad, aren't you afraid of sharks?' 'No, not really' 'Don't sharks feed at night?' 'Yes' after about a ten second pause my daughter said 'Can I have your fishing pole?' Kids, ya gotta love 'em.

BTW, Although all the conditions were perfect, tides, temperature and bright cloudless sky, the swell quit and we didn't go out.

That was cute! Can I have your longboard?

You know what I meant by shark-rock? That 'incident' on the news with the purported shark attack.

Yes sir!

I don't think that's him in the vid, but John Mel, Peter's father, kneeboards that spot a lot. It tends to be bumpy cause cliffs abound with no beach but very racy and fun.

I never keep up with these things, but looks to be about 53 or so: http://www.navo.navy.mil/LIBRARY/Metoc/Pacific+- +East+of+180/SOCAL/SATANAL/OFA/Color+Composite/ index.html

Though the air temp was beautiful in the mid-70's this weekend and I was a little hot in my 4/3.
